How many portable toilets are required for an event?

The number of portable toilets required per person for a public event depends on a number of factors, including how long the event runs for and whether or not food and beverages will be served.

Consideration is also required as follows:

  • When food and drinks are served, the number of toilets shall be increased owing to a higher frequency of use. An increase of at least 30% is recommended.
  • If the percentage of female users exceeds 50%, the number of toilets shall be increased. The increased number shall be agreed between the renter and the supplier
  • Accessible toilets are always in addition to the numbers required below
  • Cleaning interval: Intermediate cleaning or stand-by duty on site are not considered in this table. This requires individual calculation. If events last longer than 6 hours or 12 hours, the toilet shall be cleaned at intervals of 6 hours or 12 hours.

How many toilets do I need for a private event?

The number of portable toilets required for private events can vary. Certain factors can affect the number required beyond simply the number of guests in attendance. To calculate an estimate of how many toilets your event might require click here.

How many toilets do I need for 100 guests?

For events with 100 guests or less, the estimated minimum number of portable toilets required would be 2 – 3. However, many aspects of your event can mean more are required so it is best to click here for more information to ensure your event runs smoothly.
