What is the Australasian Safari Rally?

Instant Toilets & Showers provided toilet and shower facilities for approximately 500 competitors and support crew over the 10 day event, with the event moving daily.   Remote area events are difficult events to cater for for a number of reasons.  Issues that had to be considered were,

• That the event moves daily with all equipment having to travel atleast 100-360km every day

• The lack of services in regional areas needed to run the facilities (ie: water, power, sewer points)

• Waste removal services in each country town for all black and grey water disposal

• Water availability
  (pressure and run distance to connection points)

• Power availability
• Sewer points (for grey water disposal)

With any event where the guests are camping the facilities must be well maintained and operational non-stop as the facilities we provide are typically the only toilets and showers available at a given location.  Careful planning is required to ensure that they remain operational throughout the day/night and to also ensure that a high standard of cleanliness is maintained.

Logistically these type of events require alot more planning than a typical concert or function as the events are in locations where additional equipment is not readily available.  No hardware stores or suppliers are readily accessible so all possible scenarios must be thought out carefully and enough equipment must be taken to work through all possible problems that may occur.  Including the bare essentials of making sure we have enough toilet paper for the event!

Instant Toilets & Showers designed a solution for the Australasian Safari Rally which consisted of a combination of products from our extensive range of portable sanitation equipment. Our solution consisted of,

• 1x Five Star Streamline toilet blocks (16 toilet cubicles in total)

• 1x Five Star Super twelve shower units (12 shower cubicles - male/female)

Our transport fleet for the event consisted of,

• One flat top semi-trucks 

• One tilt-semi

• Three support vehicles
